School Bus

It has been said that kids just need basic items to entertain themselves and stimulate their brains. Do you think kids themselves know this? For weeks Leah had asked, repeatedly, for a box. Not just any box. A big box. When asked why she needed one, she replied, "So I can make a school bus and sit inside with my animals". So, when we came across a big box we saved it for Leah. Here was the result:
The school bus was actually cut by "daddy". Don't you just love the mirrors poking off the sides! You can tell he has a creative mind. I think a normal person would have drawn the mirrors on the side of the box or left them off altogether! Hailey was the main artist of the project, but Leah did draw the 2 headlights! She was so proud of them. She also contributed to a few of the scribble marks. (You can't see everything from this picture...sorry). Leah was also the Supervisor, Cheerleader, and Model! It just goes to show, all kids really need is a box....and a grown-up to cut holes, and markers to decorate......but basically just a box!

As a mental health therapist that works with kids, I say "good job." It looks like they are super creative and there is never a dull moment at the Rice home.
